From our Senior Minister...
Welcome to the First United Methodist website. I hope you will both find information, if that is what you are looking for, and get a sense of the energy of God alive in this exciting congregation. I like to think of First UMC as a lifeboat.
It is an image that communicates several ideas:
We do not exist for ourselves.
We are not a pleasure boat, but a vehicle of the God Who rescues.
Everyone has a place on the crew.
We expect to be used to make a difference.
Our world is adrift and many are hurting.
It is our desire to invite and to include all who desire to share in God’s saving grace in Jesus Christ. We do so out of our gratitude that we ourselves have been rescued from the ultimate effects of sin and death. What is more wonderful that the love of God at work in the people of faith? What a joy it is to be a part of a faith fellowship of Christ followers who want to be fully engaged with the living God. We invite you to be a part of this community of grateful servants.
